Vocational Education & Training
The Vocational Education and Training (VET) Program is designed to equip adults, particularly women and mothers, in Mubende District and across Uganda with practical skills that promote self-reliance and improved livelihoods. The program focuses on empowering participants with hands-on training that responds to everyday life needs and local economic opportunities.
A core component of the program is skills-based vocational training. Participants receive practical instruction in trades and life skills such as tailoring, hairdressing, catering, handicrafts, agriculture, basic construction, and other income-generating skills relevant to the local context. The training emphasizes learning by doing, ensuring participants gain competencies they can immediately apply.
The program also integrates life skills and entrepreneurship education, helping participants develop financial literacy, small business management, and problem-solving skills. These components enable adults and mothers to start or improve small enterprises, manage household resources effectively, and contribute to their family’s economic stability.
Recognizing the challenges faced by mothers, the program provides supportive and inclusive learning environments that encourage participation and retention. Flexible training schedules and community-based learning approaches allow women to balance training with family responsibilities.

Confidence, Dignity and social Inclusion
In addition, the VET Program promotes confidence, dignity, and social inclusion by enabling participants to gain recognized skills and practical knowledge. Through mentorship and continuous support, trainees are guided toward employment, self-employment, or cooperative group ventures.

Vocational Education and Training
Overall, the Vocational Education and Training Program strengthens community resilience by equipping adults and mothers with essential skills for life and work. By focusing on practical training and economic empowerment, the association helps participants build sustainable livelihoods and improve their quality of life in Mubende and throughout Uganda.
