Women & Children
The Women & Children Support Program is dedicated to strengthening the well-being and future potential of women and children in Mubende District and across Uganda. The program’s mission is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where women and children can thrive socially, economically, and educationally. It works closely with families, community leaders, and partner organizations to address gaps in care, opportunity, and empowerment.
A central focus of the program is training and skills development for women. Through structured training courses and practical workshops, women are equipped with essential life skills, vocational competencies, and business management knowledge that enhance their confidence and independence. These trainings cover areas such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy, trades, and everyday household management skills.
Comprehensive Child Care
The program provides comprehensive child care and support services, ensuring that children — especially those from vulnerable and disadvantaged backgrounds — receive safe, nurturing care and access to early learning opportunities. Support includes guidance for parents and caregivers, child-centered activities, and linkages to essential health and education services.
To promote economic self-reliance, the program offers microfinance support that enables women to start or expand small businesses. Through micro-loans, savings groups, and financial coaching, participants gain access to capital and develop sustainable income-generating ventures that improve their household stability and long-term prospects.
S.T.E.M
Recognizing the importance of gender inclusion in emerging fields, the program also champions STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for women. By providing access to STEM learning opportunities, mentorship, and resources, the program encourages women and girls to pursue careers in high-growth sectors, break barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields, and contribute to innovation and economic development.
